How it works
From first call to healed tattoo.

Ring (586) 949-6200 or stop by the studio. Tell us roughly what you're after — style, size, placement — and we'll tell you which artist fits it and what the current wait looks like.
Free consultation
In person is best; over the phone works for simpler pieces. We talk through subject matter, placement, size, budget and how many sessions it'll take. No deposit, no obligation, and you can leave without booking.
Design & deposit
Your artist works up a drawing built for your specific placement. A deposit holds the appointment and comes off the final cost. Revisions before the tattoo are free.
Stencil & sign-off
On the day we stencil, you check the fit in a mirror, and we adjust until it sits exactly where you want it. Nothing starts until you say so.
The session
Sessions cap around six hours because skin stops taking ink well past that. Bring a snack, headphones and something to drink. Breaks whenever you need them.
Aftercare & touch-up
You leave with written aftercare and a direct line to ask questions. First touch-up within twelve months is free on our work, excluding high-wear placements.
What to bring
- Government-issued photo ID. Required for every tattoo and piercing, no exceptions.
- Reference material. Photos, sketches, screenshots — bring more than you think you need. High resolution matters for realism and portraits.
- Exact text, in writing. For any lettering, especially in another language or alphabet. Have it verified by a fluent speaker first.
- Food and water. A snack and a drink for anything over two hours.
- Headphones. Long sessions go faster with something to listen to.
- One guest, maximum. Space around the chairs is limited.
Bringing a minor for a piercing
Michigan requires a parent or legal guardian to be physically present and consenting. Bring the guardian's government-issued photo ID plus documentation showing the relationship — a birth certificate or court paperwork. We apply this strictly and can't make exceptions, so please check before you drive out.
How to prepare
- Sleep. A tired body handles a long session badly.
- Eat a real meal within two hours of your appointment. Low blood sugar is the number one cause of people feeling faint in the chair.
- Hydrate the day before, not just the morning of. Well-hydrated skin takes ink better.
- No alcohol for 24 hours. It thins your blood, which means more bleeding and worse ink saturation.
- Skip aspirin and ibuprofen for 24 hours — same reason. Acetaminophen is fine.
- Don't shave the area. We'll do it with a fresh single-use razor as part of setup.
- Wear the right clothes. Easy access to the area, and nothing you'd mind getting ink on.
- Mention any medical conditions. Diabetes, blood thinners, autoimmune conditions, keloid history, pregnancy, recent surgery and allergies all matter — tell us before the day, not on it.

Before you call.
Do you take walk-ins?
Yes, seven days a week. Walk-ins are welcome for smaller tattoos, flash and almost all piercings. Larger custom work and specific artists book out in advance, so call (586) 949-6200 first if you have a particular piece or a particular artist in mind.

Is the consultation free?
Always. Come in, talk through your idea, look at portfolios and leave without booking anything. Most of our larger projects start with someone who came in twice before they were ready, and that's exactly how it should work.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes for booked appointments, and it comes off the final price. Deposits hold your artist's time — they're non-refundable but transferable if you give reasonable notice to reschedule. Walk-in work doesn't need one.
How far in advance should I book?
Small work and piercings are usually same-day or within the week. Custom pieces with a specific artist typically book a few weeks out, and large-scale projects with our busiest artists can be longer. Call and we'll give you a straight answer on current availability.
